Holding Space- Original

Holding Space marks the very first painting in the grief water series. Sometimes the paintings that take the longest can be the ones that hit us the hardest. Holding space can be hard at times but is necessary for the grieving process.

It can be rare to find people who can do this so it’s normally our animals who can be the most present with us.

I won’t forget the evening when my mom called informing me that my sister passed away.

I was with my horse Trip in his pasture. I remember screaming then realizing where I was. I looked over at my horse and he was quiet as can be. He knew it had nothing to do with him. As sad and shocked as I was, I heard the worst news in the best place.
